The Irish National Youth Ballet Company, May 2013

Sleeping Beauty Suite is a combination of dances from the full length ballet 'The Sleeping Beauty'. The stunning score of Tchaikovsky will be performed by the Orchestra of the INYB under the baton of Nathan Sherman. Choreographer Kilian O'Callaghan has all the famous numbers from the Waltz, Rose Adage, White cat & Puss in Boots to the Gold, Silver and Diamond Fairy.

Oklahoma is set in the early 1900s. The musical tells the story of two pairs of lovers. Curly is a cowboy who has trouble admitting his feelings to Laurey. Because of their stubbornness Judd, the hired hand at Laureys' farm, tries to come between them. Ado Annie is torn between Will, a cowboy who has strong feelings for her, and Ali Hakim, a peddler who is a ladies' man and doesn't want to marry her. Sarah Thornton has put together a short story depicting all the elements of the full musical.

The Princess Iolanthe. Secluded in a beautiful secret garden, surrounded by her friends, beautiful scents and playful garden sprites, the Princess Iolanthe lives blissfully unaware that she lacks something everyone surrounding her enjoys. The Queen has decreed that none must speak of light or colour in the Princess' presence; she demands that her daughter must remain entirely unconscious of the sense of sight... One evening a young foreign Prince, Tristan, happens upon the garden. Discovering the Princess, he falls instantly and deeply in love. Offering her the gift of red and white roses, he realises she is blind. He tries to explain the concept of colour and unwittingly defies the Queen's decree. Will Tristan escape the Queen's wrath and gain the hand of the Princess? Can the mysterious Court Physician, Ibn Hakia, find a cure for the Princess' blindness? And will Iolanthe ever see just how beautiful her garden, in which she has spent her entire life, truly is?
